Key Legal and Policy Issues for Economists and Social Scientists

April 29, 2024
2:00 – 3:00 PM ET
Online, Via Zoom

Democracy Forward and the Washington Center for Equitable Growth will co-host a webinar to examine emerging legal trends and discuss ways for economists and social scientists to engage in rulemakings and litigation. The webinar will review several cases currently before the Supreme Court–including Loper Bright v. Raimondo, Relentless v. Department of Commerce, and Corner Post v. Federal Reserve–that have the potential to fundamentally change how the federal government serves the American people and to limit the power of federal agencies to enact policy, ranging from standards on the air we breathe to rules protecting rights at work to small business lending programs and other economic policies. The webinar will also discuss other emerging legal trends in the federal courts. The webinar is designed to complement the April 18 Webinar with the Institute for Policy Integrity. Presenters will include Democracy Forward lawyers.
