In response to Donald Trump’s conviction on 34 counts felony counts of falsifying business records, Democracy Forward President & CEO Skye Perryman issued the following statement: 

“Our constitution entrusts the American people to serve on juries and consider facts and evidence. Today, a jury of Donald Trump’s peers made clear that nobody is above the law. Deceiving voters, falsifying records, and undermining our democracy should not be normalized or condoned. In the face of already-reported threats spurred on by far-right misinformation, we urge all involved to protect the safety of the twelve individuals who performed their civic duty on the jury, as well as Judge Merchan.”
