Washington, D.C. – Democracy Forward announced today that Max Levy, a veteran strategist who most recently shattered fundraising records as Digital Fundraising Director for Stacey Abrams’ gubernatorial campaign, has been named its inaugural Digital Strategy Director. The move is a return for Levy, who served as the organization’s Digital Communications Manager from 2018-2020. 

Working in close collaboration with the legal, policy, public affairs, and oversight teams, Levy will lead all aspects of Democracy Forward’s digital strategy and storytelling, including grassroots engagement, email program, website, and social media platforms.

Levy, as Digital Fundraising Director for Abrams for Georgia and One Georgia, Stacey Abrams’ Leadership Committee, helped the campaign engage people seeking change as well as raise more than $25 million online from grassroots donors. Prior to this work in his home state of Georgia, Levy was appointed by President Biden and served at the Environmental Protection Agency in the Office of Public Engagement and Environmental Education. There, he supported efforts to promote climate action, advance environmental justice, protect public health, and engage with new, diverse stakeholders for the Agency, including on-the-ground engagement in the Deep South. 

Levy has successfully executed digital programs for numerous presidential campaigns, including Biden for President in 2020.
