Shea Belté-Jackson is the Training and Engagement Manager at Democracy
Forward.

With over 12 years of experience in organizational culture, training and development, employee engagement, and talent management, Shea is a strategic and results-driven leader dedicated to championing initiatives that not only promote employee growth and engagement but also embody the values of equity and belonging. Her professional background spans global IT/software, national transportation, healthcare, law, and global public health, encompassing both the private and public sectors.

Before joining Democracy Forward, Shea served as a Senior People & Culture Advisor at JSI, a global public health consulting firm, where she spearheaded the development and implementation of a comprehensive People & Culture strategic action plan that aligned with organizational goals and projects countrywide. Her previous roles as a recruiter at Temple University Health System and Amtrak allowed her to enhance full-cycle recruitment processes, focusing particularly on onboarding and the critical first 90 days of employment.

In 2020, Shea founded Take Up Space, LLC, partnering with organizations to implement best practices in People and Culture using a human-centered approach. She also gained valuable experience as an Associate Human Resources Business Partner at BMC Software in areas including severance, mergers and acquisitions, recruitment, and employee relations. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Holy Family University and an M.S. in Higher Education Administration and Leadership from Drexel University. Outside of work, Shea is a devoted wife and a proud mother to three sons. A passionate sports fan, she supports the Philadelphia Eagles, the Golden State Warriors, and her oldest son’s teams.
