Sharyn Tejani

Managing Attorney

Sharyn A. Tejani is the Managing Attorney at Democracy Forward.

Sharyn served most recently as an Associate Legal Counsel in the Office of Legal Counsel at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In that position, she oversaw and directly worked on regulations, guidance, and policies regarding civil rights protections for workers. She also coordinated the EEOC’s litigation defending its regulations and guidance.

Immediately prior to joining the EEOC, Sharyn worked at the National Women’s Law Center as the Director of the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund, which assists workers facing sexual harassment obtain and pay for legal assistance.

Sharyn’s career also includes being a Trial Attorney and Deputy at Employment Litigation Section of the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice, where she litigated individual disparate treatment and large disparate impact cases involving employment discrimination based on race and sex.

Ms. Tejani graduated from Yale Law School and Georgetown University Law Center. She is licensed to practice in Washington D.C. and New York.
