Lara Finkbeiner is Deputy Managing Attorney at Democracy Forward.
Prior to joining Democracy Forward, Lara served in several positions at the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) including as the Deputy Legal Director and most recently as the Director of Global Pro Bono. At IRAP, she helped build the legal services department and designed programming to engage an extensive network of pro bono attorneys and law students.
Lara has also worked as the Public Interest Director at Michigan Law School, a Visiting Clinical Lecturer at Yale Law School, an UNHCR deployee in Guantanamo and The Bahamas, and as a Fulbright scholar in Ecuador. She is currently serving as a Lecturer in the University of Michigan’s Program in International and Comparative Studies.
Lara received her B.A. in History with Honors from the University of Michigan in 2008, her M.Sc. in Forced Migration from the University of Oxford in 2010, and her J.D. cum laude from Michigan Law School in 2013.
She is licensed to practice in New York and Michigan.
