LaNita King is a Senior Director, Community and Engagement at Democracy Forward.
Prior to joining Democracy Forward, LaNita led a national initiative to diversify and strengthen the state judicial bench at Demand Justice. With over a decade of experience in campaign strategy, program management, and social impact, she has held roles at the Groundwork Collaborative, the Voter Participation Center, and the Democratic National Committee.
LaNita’s work has spanned economic policy, civic engagement, and electoral organizing, including directing multi-city listening sessions with grassroots leaders and managing state party fundraising efforts post the 2016 presidential election. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Vote Mama Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to advancing the political participation of mothers. LaNita holds a B.A. from California State University, Northridge.
