Kelsey Pormasdoro is a Legal Assistant at Democracy Forward.
Prior to joining Democracy Forward, Kelsey worked as a Legal Resource Assistant for Arnold Porter. While at Arnold & Porter, she supported attorneys across a broad range of practice areas. She was also staffed on various pro-bono matters, where she supported cases representing tenants against predatory landlords, individuals on death row subject to cruel and usual punishment, and incarcerated individuals deprived of medical care.
After graduating with her B.A. from Texas A&M University, Kelsey moved from Texas to Washington, D.C. in 2022 to work as an intern for the Voting Section of the Department of
Justice Civil Rights Division. She then joined the Civil Rights Division full-time and spent 3 years as a Paralegal Specialist in the Special Litigation Section (SPL). During her time at SPL, she supported several investigations of civil rights violations by law enforcement agencies across the country. Kelsey hopes to attend law school in the future and work as a civil rights attorney advocating for those in contact with the criminal legal system.
