Beth Olson is Manager, Together for Democracy and State Engagement at Democracy Forward.
Beth Olson is a proud Texan who has devoted her career to advocating for women and children. Drawing on her background in health policy and community engagement, she has led numerous initiatives designed to engage public and private sector leaders on public health issues.
Most recently, Beth led efforts to improve reproductive health access in Central Texas by examining the impact of state laws on local providers and patients and guided school districts through the implementation of new state sex education standards.
Prior to that, Beth led a statewide child hunger program for the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty where she worked to streamline the implementation of federal child nutrition programs by improving communication between government agencies. Beth is also a former board member and interim Executive Director of the Texas Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy and managed health policy in the Texas House of Representatives for several years.
Beth is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and lives in Waco, Texas. On the rare occasion they have some free time, she and her kids enjoy relaxing at their family ranch with their loyal Boykin Spaniel.
