Athena Reyes is a Litigation Paralegal at Democracy Forward.
Prior to joining the organization, she worked as a Paralegal at Crowell & Moring, where she supported antitrust recovery matters, focusing on class actions, financial fraud, and consumer protection. She previously served as a Case Manager at Oracle Law Firm, guiding clients through the workers’ compensation process, and as a Summer for Justice Law Clerk at Bet Tzedek Legal Services, advocating for immigrant workers in wage theft cases.
She earned her B.A. in English with a concentration in World Literature from UCLA and attended UC Irvine School of Law, taking a medical leave in good standing before returning to the legal field with renewed purpose.
Athena is passionate about defending communities from systemic harm and using the law as a tool for equity and justice. She currently resides in her native Southern California and is a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, bringing a culturally grounded, community-oriented perspective to her work. In her free time, she enjoys reading literary and speculative fiction, creative writing, and curating crystals and mineral specimens for her online shop.
