Our Recent Wins:
- Challenging Trump’s Abuse of Power: We sued to challenge the use of wartime powers in the Alien Enemies Act to facilitate mass deportations without any due process.
- Uncovered Secret Deals with El Salvador to Disappear People: We secured the release of a previously secret $4.76 million financial arrangement between the Trump-Vance administration and El Salvador to disappear people from U.S. territory to the notorious CECOT prison.
- Blocked ICE Raids in Houses of Worship: On behalf of a coalition of faith communities, we fought for – and won – a ruling to block immigration officials from entering houses of worship.
- Fought to Uncover the Coverup of the Epstein Files: We filed a first-of-its-kind lawsuit demanding records related to the Trump-Vance administration’s handling of the Epstein Files. The only thing transparent about this administration is how clearly they continue to disregard our nation’s laws.
- Taking on DOGE: We secured several court orders that block DOGE’s ability to access Americans’ private, personal data at the Social Security Administration.
- Halted the Federal Funding Freeze: We secured the first and only nationwide court order blocking the Trump administration’s federal funding freeze on essential services, from childcare to health programs and another nationwide order protecting key infrastructure and community funds.
- Fighting for Civil Servants: We launched the You Are Not Alone Project – a rapid response effort to provide resources and support to the nonpartisan federal workforce – who work for all Americans – affected by the Trump-Vance admin’s mass layoffs.
- Supporting Educators and Students: In a win for public schools and educators, we secured a court order rejecting the Trump-Vance admin’s assault on public education as unconstitutional. This decision in our case proves what we’ve long known – the admin’s attempt to weaponize federal funding and require compliance with their flawed interpretation of civil rights is unlawful.
