Karianne Jones is Senior Counsel at Democracy Forward. At Democracy Forward, Karianne has represented municipalities, non-profits, and individuals in administrative law and constitutional challenges to unlawful Executive Branch actions involving federal advisory committees, transportation, agriculture, veterans’ and civil rights, and immigration.
Prior to joining Democracy Forward, Karianne was a member of the Supreme Court & Appellate and Litigation practices at Mayer Brown in Washington, D.C. At Mayer Brown, Karianne authored appellate briefs and dispositive motions in federal courts across the country. Karianne also maintained an active pro bono practice, with a focus on immigration and civil rights.
Karianne has argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, as well as dispositive and evidentiary motions before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Karianne graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Minnesota Law Review, and clerked for Judge Duane Benton on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
