Travis joins Democracy Forward following more than five years at the Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division. There, he defended federal clean energy, conservation, and environmental justice initiatives against both statutory and constitutional challenges in courts nationwide. Travis has also served as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and as a C.V. Starr Lecturer in Law at Peking University’s School of Transnational Law, and clerked for the Honorable Mary Ellen Coster Williams at the United States Court of Federal Claims.
Travis holds a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Travis is a member of the State Bar of New York; he practices under the supervision of organization principals while his D.C. bar application is pending.
